Mapping Tools

The following tools can be useful references for regulatory, planning, and recreational purposes. Note that the boundaries of wetlands and similar areas are only approximate, and not all of these features appear on the maps. Please contact Conservation staff for more detailed information on determining whether there are jurisdictional wetland resource areas on a specific property.

  • MassMapper is an interactive mapping tool for Massachusetts, powered by MassGIS and the state Executive Office of Technology and Security Services, that contains many data layers, which can be overlaid, and turned on or off. There is also an option to create a pdf map of an area of interest.
  • MuniMapper for Holbrook is customized to start at the town level, and it contains a subset of commonly-used data layers. There is also an option to create a pdf map of an area of interest.
  • FEMA Flood Map Service Center is the official public source for flood hazard information, including flood maps, which are useful for regulatory as well as flood insurance purposes. Note that determining the extent of jurisdictional land subject to flooding generally requires site-specific topography as determined by survey, observations of flooding, and/or additional flood studies.
  • U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) website contains information on how to find, download, or order current or historic topographic maps, which are useful for planning purposes, and include contours, as well as features such as streets, buildings, streams, bodies of water, and vegetation.
